KINDED is a movement inspiring kind acts, seeded by the KIND team (www.kindsnacks.com). Get a KINDED card, pass it on with a kind act, then track how far your chain of KINDINGS travels!
1447 KINDINGS so far...The KINDED movement was seeded by the KIND team to encourage people to surprise others with unexpected acts of kindness. Research shows that kindness makes people happy and happy people are healthier! However, despite being so powerful, kind acts do not happen nearly often enough. That’s why we developed KINDED - to make doing unexpected acts of kindness more frequent and easier.
This blog shares our experiences, thoughts and tips on KINDING.
We are super excited that over 1000 kind acts have been posted on KINDED.com! Moreover, we are incredibly inspired by the KIND acts we have learned about through this website. You all have given us some great ideas for KIND acts.
Today we had an important strategy meeting at KIND and we developed a big idea that we think can have an enormous social impact.
This idea will allow us to do an even greater KIND act than we had initially envisioned for the Great KINDING.
That’s why we’ve decided to delay the Great KINDING until we can implement this new idea. We have some preparation to do, but we assure you it will be worth the wait. Watch this space…
Rachael Ray featured KINDED and KIND Bars (in a KIND Cube) as her 'Snack of the Day' today. So cool!
Petz Scholtus of Springwise.com posted an article about KINDED yesterday that we thought did a really great job of explaining the movement. Thanks for the shout-out, Petz! http://springwise.com/non-profit_social_cause/kinded/
KINDING IDEA #2: Offer to share your umbrella with someone who doesn’t have one when it starts to pour. We’re pretty certain most people would be thrilled to be saved from spending their day at the office or school with puddles in their shoes and their shirts sticking to their backs!
Unfortunately, we live in a society where people are often wary of the intentions of strangers when offering an unexpected kind act. This presents a real obstacle for surprising someone with an unexpected act of kindness.
Imagine if you're at Starbucks and the person standing in front of you in line, turns around and hands you a coffee. "Is he coming on to me?" "Do I really look that tired?" "Has he put anthrax in my drink?" All valid concerns.
That's where KINDED cards come in. KINDED cards are meant to help overcome the social awkwardness of doing unexpected kind acts by serving a 'license' to do the act, and explaining why you are doing it. So, when that person at Starbucks hands you a KINDED card along with the coffee, you'll feel comfortable accepting since they're just passing on a kind act that was done for them.
The kind folks over at FlightPath recently wrote a blog entry about KINDED:

We were thrilled to hear the positive responses it received from readers and so interested to hear their thoughts on kindness:
Mari, a member of the KIND Snacks team, spends a LOT of time in food stores and loves to KIND people this way. It happens to all of us- we expect to make one purchase, but wind up struggling with handfuls of groceries. After frequently seeing people in this position all across the country, Mari thought of this great way to KIND people. She finds that it is a small and easy gesture that everyone greatly appreciates.
The KIND word is getting out! Skinny and the City recently blogged about how awesome our bars AND our mission to spread kindness are. Thanks for the shout out, guys! Glad you are with us ;)
